These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your membership in the International Association of Academic and Teaching Professionals (“IAATP” or “the Association”) and your participation in its activities, services, and community. By applying for or maintaining membership, you agree to comply fully with these Terms and any additional rules, policies, or guidelines established by IAATP.
1.1 General Criteria
Membership in IAATP is open to individuals who meet the eligibility criteria as defined by the Association. These criteria may include professional experience, educational background, contributions to the academic and teaching professions, or other factors deemed relevant by IAATP.
1.2 Ongoing Requirements
Membership is contingent upon continued compliance with these Terms and the internal rules and regulations of the Association. Members are expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and active engagement with the community.
1.3 Obligation to Follow Rules
Members acknowledge that adherence to the rules of IAATP is a condition of membership. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, including exclusion from the Association.
3.1 Participation Requirement
As part of their membership duties, all Members are required to actively participate in the review of applications submitted by new candidates. This responsibility ensures that the Association maintains its professional standards and admits individuals who align with its values and mission.
3.2 Nature of Participation
Participation may include, but is not limited to:
– Evaluating candidate qualifications,
– Providing constructive feedback,
– Submitting recommendations or objections, and
– Voting or otherwise contributing to the decision-making process.
3.3 Commitment to Fair Evaluation
Members are expected to conduct candidate reviews in good faith, exercising fairness, impartiality, and respect for confidentiality. Personal bias, discrimination, or conflicts of interest must be avoided.
4.1 Grounds for Exclusion
IAATP reserves the right to exclude any Member immediately and without prior warning if they:
– Fail to comply with the Association’s rules and regulations,
– Refuse to participate in mandatory membership duties such as reviewing candidate applications,
– Engage in misconduct or inappropriate behavior, including harassment or unprofessional conduct,
– Act in a manner that undermines the reputation, objectives, or operations of IAATP.
4.2 No Obligation of Prior Notice
Decisions to exclude a Member are at the sole discretion of IAATP. The Association is not obligated to provide advance warning or justification, although it may do so at its discretion.
4.3 Finality of Decision
All exclusion decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
5.1 Efforts to Verify
IAATP undertakes reasonable efforts to verify the accuracy of information submitted by candidates during the membership application process, using accessible and appropriate means.
5.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy
Despite such efforts, the Association does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or truthfulness of any information provided by candidates.
5.3 Limitation of Responsibility
IAATP shall not be held responsible or liable for any false, misleading, or inaccurate information provided by applicants or Members. Members acknowledge this limitation and agree that IAATP is not accountable for consequences arising from reliance on such information.
6.1 Professionalism
Members must act in a professional, respectful, and ethical manner in all interactions associated with IAATP.
6.2 Representation
Members are expected to represent IAATP positively and avoid any behavior that could harm the Association’s reputation.
6.3 Confidentiality
Members may gain access to confidential information about candidates, Members, or Association activities. Such information must not be disclosed without authorization.
7.1 Right to Modify
IAATP reserves the right to amend or update these Terms at any time without prior notice.
7.2 Effective Date of Changes
Changes will take effect immediately upon posting on the Association’s official communication channels, including but not limited to its website or member portal.
7.3 Member Acceptance
By continuing membership after the posting of changes, Members agree to be bound by the updated Terms. Members who do not agree with any modifications must terminate their membership.
8.1 Voluntary Termination
Members may terminate their membership at any time by notifying IAATP in writing.
8.2 Involuntary Termination
IAATP may terminate membership at its sole discretion for reasons including, but not limited to:
– Violation of these Terms,
– Failure to meet or maintain eligibility criteria,
– Conduct detrimental to the objectives or reputation of IAATP.
8.3 Consequences of Termination
Upon termination, whether voluntary or involuntary, the individual loses all rights, privileges, and benefits associated with membership.
9.1 Membership Benefits
IAATP may offer programs, events, networking opportunities, publications, or other resources for its Members.
9.2 Disclaimer of Guarantees
The Association does not guarantee the provision, quality, or effectiveness of any services, benefits, or support. Membership is offered on an “as is” basis, and Members should not expect specific outcomes or entitlements.
By applying for or maintaining membership in IAATP, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any provision, you must not apply for membership or must discontinue your membership.
